I cut/trimmed my nana leaves when it turned yellowish or aged. I don't do it frequently and didn't have mass casualty. For your case, you could have cut the thicker stems or stalk of the plant resulting in greater "wound" and the sap seeped out? Just my guessing, never heard that trimming plants (of any sort) will kill shrimps.

A skimmer is a device that draws water from the surface of the water.
For canister usage, there are commercial ready units for sale that connects easily with the in-flow piping. For hang on filters, you'll have to get those that comes with it.... |

oh...mistaken liao Gerald, i know skimmer. i'm asking is that pvc pipe your skimmer, cos i didn't see any in the tank.

There is a skimmer attachment fitted to the OHF, take a look at my last picture. It's the round device which has a thin layer of black filter wrap around it....

never thought of that...
I cut my moss and throw them into my shrimp tank , trim my plants and throw them into my shrimp tank... so far ok.. |
