TCs use built-up reserves for "investments". Anyone know what exactly those investments are? made thru which "investment companies" - those that make or lose $ still charge high management fees? lining some pockets?

what's the point of overtaxing the people up front n then give back rebates?
want to look charitable? nbzzzzz, it's the people's money.

what is the mandate of town councils? service provider or investment vehicles?

Baey Yam Keng said these on Town Councils:
"They’re not public institutions; they’re not a public service company"
“They do not belong to the government. They’re governed by government regulations, but they’re definitely not run by civil servants; and they’re not a public agency,”

So what are they when they are allowed to spend money from the Public ??

Why isnt this mentioned in the budget that was just released?? Has it become a norm yearly the announcement of budget is only for "good things"
