cute does not means it's safe to keep.. most starfishes will tend to eat smaller fish or corals

Chocolate chip are quite common too. Most LFS sell them for $5 but I got mine a $3 from the marine farm at Seletar Farmway.

If you have another tank or a sump, you can keep a constant supply of starfish. Else for me, I will go to Seletar once every two week.
what do u mean by ripe ? any babies ?

They are so small...about 2cm the most....can they eat a starfish ?

Any Bros know the name of the red shrimps with white feelers.....
The keeper was busy so I did not ask him

Yes. Harlequin shrimps would be able to eat the starfish as starfishes are their natural diet.

Are the shrimps completely red with white feelers and white dots at the head? If yes, most probably its the blood shrimp.

If the body is yellow(can be very pale shade) with red stripe running along the top of the shrimp from the head to the tail with white feelers, its most probably the skunk cleaner shrimp.

I think it was the blood shrimp....they seem quite common as there in a LFS in Chinatown (L2 oppsite the hawker center) that sell them too....

The harlequin shrimps seem hard to feed...and are relatively small...unless there are the blue ones which would look better in coral sand....

I am worries as the tank is relatively small....below 1ft.
Any leftover or dead starfish parts may foul the whole tank especially if left over the weekend....means I must feed on Monday or Tuesday and remove any leftover by Thurs or Friday....

BTW what do blood shrimps eat ?

Blood shrimps are not picky feeders, they eat a wide variety of food. You can feed them sinking pellets. They would also eat fresh seafood.
