i think in light coloured backgrds those unstable ST will look nicer
black back grd looks nice for stable-all-the-time ST
most of us not so lucky with ST

in fact i move from 3ft tank( all light thru) to 5 ft
all my ST turn black sold away then at that shop turn kim

imo,
black tank = dark gold colour
blue tank = yellowish colour
new tankmates = helps the tiger to be more alert, therefore turn more stable
white gravel/pebbles sort of brighten the tank, therefore, forrce the colour out of the tigers.
