Is true, feeding feeders may b one of the reason, however, when I feed feeder to my fish, I will quarantine them first follow by frozen in order to minimise the risk of parasite infection, and I only feed feeder once in two weeks time.

At the same time, I feed some type of food to my others fish, all of them seems healthy with no sign of parasite infraction, also I nev experience other fish have SDS.

Thx for ur input, can share more about skipping MP as main source of food? Any better alternative food that able to replace MP? Thx in advance.
U can try out cut sotongz, skin them possible.

Yes bro, I also agreed that Sotong is a safer alternative compare to MP & feeders.

Now, SDS is really happened on my NTTs without any other reasons.

Here I open a case study for everyone to share your experience about SDS for NTT, any reason? any method to cure? Or is there any way to prevent SDS happen?

Tank: 2ft x 1ft x 1ft with overhead filtration
Fish: 4 x NTT, size around 3 inches, no other tank mate
Salinity: maintained between 0.5~1%
Diet: MP, fish meat & feeders occasionally
Feeding regime: 1 time per day, 70% of full capacity, no feeding on wc day
WC frequency: 2 time per week, 20% each, water are use age water with anti-chlorine

SDS happens in this way:

Day 1: Lost appetite, colour of the fish became very vivid (Missed the record)

Day 2: Breathing heavily and less active

Day 3: Pop eyes, lost balance

YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

Day 4: it struggled about 2 hours befre succumbing to death

Checked the water parameter once the NTT passed away:
PH: 6.8
Ammonia: 0ml/L
No3: 10mg/L

All comments are welcome to discuss in order to help hobbyist to keep their NTT well

Thanks
Yours does not seem like SDS. The NTT already sick and in trouble for few days. SDS is something like morning eating well, swimming happily, then you come back from work to see the fish dead.

Actually this is the last PC of NTT out of 4 that last few days before die.

The previous 3 were die over night one by one without any sign in past 1 month. No chance for me to take record excepted this pc.

If u see your IT gasping for air, the situation is hopeless liao. The strange thing is there is no sign of disease or injury. As far as I know, there is no cure for it.
