Yes, it will float and just slowly pour the water over it. Somehow the pressure will be absorb and should not disturb the soil.

Like all bro said. leave the water and the tank along and see the next day.
Of course must leave your filter on. Btw how big is your tank and the flow rate of your filter? |

How did you introduce water in?
Pour in using hose/pail or slowly drip the water in? |

i slowly pour water in...i think i will restart and place the plastic bag when filling water..thank all!!!

I think it's ok just need to let it settle and cycle the tank accordingly. If intention is to keep shrimps, then definitely need to cycle for quite awhile until ammonia is at acceptable level.

Some people do huge water change for a few days to reduce the brownish cloudiness and then let it run.
