The dorsal count method is helpful when you try to ID juvenile fish.

The jaw structure is quite diff. Do a google search and probably you will see the diff.

The jaw structure is quite different. It's quite evident once you have seen them both.

And this is Megalops Atlanticus.

They are also not found in the same waters.

Hey bros, nice looking. I kept them before and I remember how reflective and silvery white they are..

However I think they will never grow to be giants like those tarpons u see in the seas and oceans..

somehow related but I don't think they are the exact same ones but even if so, mine didn't grow much while I fed it MP..
