Just use anything to mix the bt9 with the water before pouring in

Maybe we should put it in a bottle, shake it, then pour it near the water inlet hose. The bt9 will then be sucked into e cannister and good bb can grow inside the expensive filter media we had bought.

Workable or not wise?

I am using 2213 for my 1ft cube. Rainbar was too strong no matter how I adjust it, if I use the tap and lower the output it gets a bit noisy.
In the end I got a Lilypipe outlet and that solved my problem.
Another way is to pack the canister very full with media. Some bros also mentioned to add a prefilter before the canister

Are you pairing it with your chiller? If you are, better don't reduce the flowrate too much or it might potentially affect your chiller kick in kick out rate. You can just point your rainbar facing the tank wall then, getting a lily pipe did not work for me probably because of the slope I have in my scape and it blows the soil away.

If its not with chiller, simply pack more media or add a pre filter as bro gryhon said, it will reduce quite a bit of the flowrate and at the same time gives you more filtration media.
