Been wanting to see in real life how a blue bolt looks like. So far from photos they look to have nice blues

How to compare? Auction site means, i wait for my shrimp to post swee swee, *SNAP*! Besides, who knows if they enhanced e photo?? Those in LFS, in bags, are highly stressed out. How to see potential?

Say, even we humans being scare e shit out of us, will turn pale lips, let alone tiny creatures... Tio bo??

Will BKK take so long to mature? For CRS and most other shrimps, they take abt 3mths to mature (from hatch).

Up till now, I don't even dare to keep BKK mainly because,
- not enough experience n knowledge
- no deep pocket

My soil based tank gives me pH6.0 (another mature tank, abt 1+yrs old is abt pH6.2). Yet I dare not venture into it... haiz, i can only continue w CRS la.

Look at this tank... it's giving me pH6.2... breed out nice CRS... some has very thick white. I remb somewhere, there was one that has very deep red too... fella hides well. Soil... from shrimp guru la... don't need mention name right.

Since you are breeding crs so well, high end shrimps like BKK will likely to do well.
What special soil, from silane?

Bro... can keep CRS well doesn't mean can keep BKK well. So many bros tried keeping BKK/Panda and Wine Red successfully... but that doesn't mean I'll be successful too. So I don't wana venture into that, YET

Maybe e other main concern, $$. Can't afford to spend like that, money limited ma.

No special soil la. There are many commercial soil so I did use commercial soil before, and I also use soil from Silane. Commercial soil (gex) was ok. But since Silane has been using some imported soil and has some to spare, I might as well get e spare from him. Overall, he is e guinea pig (sorry bro, you really are e guinea pig in this case).

If e soil is bad, he crash his tank, not me But since he had used these soil for sometime, it's safe to use. It's like... getting new technology, better get 2nd Generation. 1st Gen may hv bugs and need fixing. I apply that to soil... if 1st batch has problem, congrats to Silane. If it's stable, 2nd batch onwards is good la.

Tried 1 batch from him, it works well in my 2ft tank. That's why I gotten another lot from him this year. I just posted a brief history of my shrimp keeping in the Rili thread.

Bro you are a seasoned shrimp breeder, should have more confidence in yourself. When you sell off your crs you will have $ for BKK

Trust me, being able to keep and breed one shrimp spieces doesn't assured success in another. Blue bolt for example, it is perceived (myself) as an easier shrimp to keep compared to BKK or Wine Red, but again I dare not touch.

Btw, I'm not a season breeder. I only hv 1 successful CRS tank so far. I do keep others, but it's not as beautiful. Besides, I didn't sold any shrimps for very long time.

Blue bolt never try yet but soon....basiclly keeping bkk and crs the same only different is the ph...bkk need slightly lower ph about 6 to 6.2...look at Mr Yeh he is keeping both bkk and crs in the same tank(can see from the interview with german web site)...
