re
Its been quite a while simce i updated on the progress of my shrimp tank. basically had been a busy week trying to setup the tanks and source out the stuffs i required.
the tank was custom made by YH and was delivered last sat or sun. Haiz getting old, cant recall the dates properly. Proceed to setup the tank with the stuffs i bought fm GC The old sea mud powder fm Mosura in lighter tone compare with that fm Benibachi 3 ft rainbar (DIY.....) pre-filter which i used it as an extra BB housing. The tank when filled oso appears cloudy like the ADA, but disperse after running the filter for 3 hours. Got some big BB house and put it in the tank, but find it ugly. Thus rescape and insert the hosue in btw the partition and cover with gravels to keep it out of sight The tank was filled with 80% distilled water and 20% water fm my 422 tank. Don't ask me why cos i oso dnt knw why i used distilled water. Normally i used distilled oni for top ups. Canister stored water fm my old tank and had been running for 3 mths, oni intro new biohomme to make it fuller. added BT 9, Shizhen and rich water to the tank. Leave the tank to cycle for a full 10+ hours b4 taking any readings Readings as per first day, expected to see some spikes in the ammonia and nitrite reading but found nothing. DAY1 pH - 6.4 kh - 2 gh - 5 ammonia, nitrite, nitrate at 0 The tank was left to run. Added again, BT9 to the water. Reading was taken again DAY 3 pH - 5.6 kh - 2 gh - 5 ammonia - 0.25ppm nitrite - 0.5ppm nitrate -0 Reading taken at day 4 DAY 4 pH - 4.8 (think its the amt of drift wood i had, 2 larger pc were removed, added coral chips into the tank) kh - 2 gh - 5 ammonia - 0 nitrite - 0 nitrate - 10ppm After taken the reading, mineral rocks which i bought fm GC were added. Plants which i had bought early and quarantine were also added. Day 5 pH - 5.8 kh - 3 gh - 6 ammonia - 0ppm nitrite - 0ppm nitrate -5 Did a 30% WC using distilled water, BT 9, Shizhen and rich water added. 3 hrs later, intro my commando CRS. Pic of my tank at end of day 5, commando CRS doing well Day 6 pH - 5.8 kh - 3 gh - 6 ammonia - 0ppm nitrite - 0ppm nitrate -0ppm Constant readings... so happy. Finally can get my PRLs |

Looking good! Wah bro 1 week already put in PRL ah? Champion lah
Curious, where is the GH coming from any idea? Since you used distilled water. Don't think snails like such acidic water. I have seen many with broken shells at this PH levels. |
