if pacus can really become so big, so are they classified as food fishes elsewhere?

Mine are growing pretty fast. Noticeable .5" growth in under a week. They eat EVERYTHING! My Bichirs can hardly get anything when the Pacus are on an empty stomach. I have to pump them to their limits before i can start with my other fishes. They're only about 3" now, can't imagine them feeding at 10"+. Woo!
