Get perlite and vermiculite from nurseries. But first, mark the "correct side up" of the egg with a marker to make sure it doesnt turn on its side.

Also, after say a week, use a torchlight and shine it at the egg. A fertile egg should have a pinkish band. An infertile egg should be yellow.

the eggs also need humidity, so make sure the hatching medium is moist but not wet.

Best of luck.

Oh I designed the tank myself 2 years back. The design is in the thread here:

Crossing my fingers that these are fertile and the embryo are alive.

I am using potting soil from my mum's flower pot now. Should I use perlite instead? The soil in the plastic tub is now well soaked...wonder if it is too wet...

Hey, I saw ur tank setup. What is the ramp (the black one) made of? I have an idea, just not sure how to make the ramp and make it stick.

Anyway, didn't know you were also the guy I gave the bino to. Haha.. Didn't know that you too were a turtle fan. I have 3 RES now.

Hmm.. ok. My toughest part is how to make the ramp.. I have an idea to modify a rubbermaid for the basking area.
