Once clear the tank liao you can try to sort out the plants part by part which I did. Play safe. But very eye straining lu. I can fully understand your worry bro.

 My tank also have hydra......I just take out my rain bar see whether it help to keep away the hydra or not like wat Bro Xmant have said poor water circulation....Hope everything will be fine in no time.
