Problem when mostly buy those fire reds in the bag which are also berried and some got shrimplets in there already are very old already...
I got my first batch like this and the shrimplets are much much bigger. Now I planning to breed them further if not the fire red keeping hobby will be very short only. |

hi.. sorry for digging this thread up.. wanna clear my doubts that cheery, sakura and fire red are all from the same family?
becos i have cheeries and sakuras in my tank currently and uncle at midori advise that i pick out those red ones to one side if not the offspring will have lesser and lesser red. issit true? also i read from somewhere that out of the 10 off-springs of sakura only one will be sakura? |

Yes...cherry,sakura and fire red are from the same family and they do breed among themself. If you are serious abt selective breeding to bring out the redness in yr say fire red..I would advise culling them from time to time and keep only say very red ones in a tank to themself cos mixing them will only make yr cherry genes redder and bring down the redness quality of yr fire red if they interbreed and make tracing of parentage diffcult. |
