i got half of my 2 ft crs tank covered in mini nana. currently i have about 20 adults and around 30-60 shrimplets and 20 or so juveniles.

as from what i heard. plant sap will corrode calcium thus causing the death of the shrimp. u may wanna add a bit of coral chips like i do counter the effect of the sap when u are doing trimming.

Probably there are some food particles stuck on the moss

hmm i guess running carbon filtration could help in absorbing some of the toxins released by the plant sap... trimmed my nana in my tank yesterday... removed rotting leaves and all... no casualty for my shrimps... but that might be because i am using carbon in my HOB filter...

Well...

So far I have no known casualty in my Cherry Shrimp tank when I trim the my plants.

Here my simple setup with Carolina Fanworts planted about 10-15% of the 1.5 x 1 x 1ft tank.

I normally trim them (60%) every week end to promote growth and also as a means of control.

I'm using a very old hang on filter and I break the water returning flow with a cut up pvc pipe...

Before trim...

After trim...

Over all view..
