hydra's natural enemies
great pond snail
3 spot gourami
swordtail molly ( not very sure. serveral websites said so.)

hydra's weakness
Fenbendazole

hydra's pattern
likes light - maybe shine your tank at certain spots only. then wipe it off.

hydra methods to getting rid without harming the shrimps.
suck them up with an air tube everytime you see them.

i think lets not try the chemical way. someone in shrimpnow reported after use of fenbendazole, the cherry shrimps did not berry for awhile after tt.

fenbendazole seems not very dissolvable in water as reported by another forum. then the main question was posed that will the residue of the chemical pose any problems in future.

so.. i think tearing down is the best if really want to rid the hydra. coz if still left one.. it can still reproduce thru budding.

i wonder if they can get sucked into the filter and reproduce there!? now im just being paranoid.

I used to have hydra in my old shrimp tank. What I did was to use electric current. By connecting 2 wires (one to '+' and the other to '-') of a 9V battery, and electrocute the hydra. But of cause do it w/o any livestock in the tank... this is just a suggestion, do it at your own risk

i decided to use fenbendazole to get rid of hydras and the result was very good.. this is the forth day after using the powder and i notice the hydras all culled up, seems like dying...till now no death of any shrimps or snails.

According to instruction, am suppose to change some water on the 7th day...hope everything will be ok and be able to get rid of hydras
