thanks...went back ST 96 the next day and got a Thai blue and a red.

any bros got experience with the red kelah from ST 96...pls share.

also got another small one 2 inches (red kelah?) from another LFS in jurong west for 2.5 red notes....just want to find out how this fellow develops...scales quite shiny with some patterns on the back...top view is more compressed...aka deeper body than my green kelah..

Haha... poison working already . Do post some pictures for bros here to comment. Sometimes it's very difficult to tell if the specimen is too small. Save your bullets if you plan to purchase more kelah. Contact me when you're heading to JB, can point you to a reliable kelah source nearby. 2.5 red notes can get you 2 5inch red over here.

Default diet

btw anyone feed color enhancing pellets like those containing "spirulina" to their kelah...i think it helps on the red color development...currently feeding hikari lionhead(gold fish pellets)...my green kelah also got kind of reddish fins. The scales are really shiny and seems bulging out(not being mistaken for dropsy)...really nice and cheap...only the body shape a bit rounded...i prefer more high/deep body...

my lemon fin barb getting more high/deep body as it eats more....now looks abit like thin foil barbs...hahaha..

Spirulina and hormone based food actually causes the fish to develope colours not originally found on the species. Try to feed wheat germ based food instead. Colours will develope on its own.

Talking about food. After trying many brands from HaiFeng to Hikari and Koi food.

I found the Nobouri brand pellet the best (the one with a red and white koi picture). Has a lot of protein and kelp something like that. Somehow my thai blue's scales looked better after just finishing a packet of that recently.

Correct me if i'm wrong, Spirulina are found in prawns so feeding anything along that line is known to help with colouration. I have tried that too with MP and dried baby shrimps for arowana but no obvious diiference in results. I'm now still feeding this just to give them some variety in their diet but the primary is still pellet food.

notice the lemon fin barbs(just below and right of thai blue) are very deep bodied after feeding....used to be longish....

Probably naturally occuring spirulina less than those concentrated form used in pellet food. Btw, is the Nobouri pellets that you mentioned sinking type? What size of pellets and what's the damage?

Keep it up! Those lfb can grow up to 18in (the biggest I've seen so far).
