i think if you want a stable tank, its best to invest in a pH meter. good luck bro.

I think can. Just use the small transparent plastic container and scope water from the tank. You can select the shrimps. Not sure still have or not though.

Just want to point out certain infos i noted. Not all sulawasei shrimp are good at pH 8 and above, though cardinal is good for pH 8-8.2. Secondly please ask the shop keeper what pH they keep their shrimps are first, cause some keeps in normal water pH.

asking shop keeper may not help. why not use the internet to search for its natural habitat's water parameters. much more convenient and can have more opinions and resources

Well, why I mentioned to ask shopkeeper as some of them keeps them in normal pH in tapwater and by trying to be smart and think higher pH for them in just a few days will most likely kill your shrimps. Especially if you are talking about those more sensitive type of sulawesi shrimps.

Also, different sulawesi shrimps have different pH and conditions which no one can confirm yet, but I've tried between 2 species of salewasi shrimps and it appears that one type can't survive that well in that high a pH (8+) or at least not if you did not do a gradual change of pH over a month

oh i agree with asking ph from the shop owner...acutally normally i test the water that comes with the fish...cos i feel it applies to all fishes/shrimps....knowing wat ph they do well in is a must, but slowing down the change from what they are in to wat they are suppose to be in is a must must too....
