TEM will not work well in our climate as it still relay on the ambience temperature. Ie to say, if ambience temperature is 30 degree C, the TEM will able to chill to 26 degree c. The TEM is good because it wont evaporate the water as much as a fan does.

An ice probe works the same way as the dophin mini chiller, and the price for the ice probe and its electronics for maintaining the temperature will cost as much as a 2nd hand chiller for 2 feet.
Bro Eviltrain, may I know where to get this mini chiller and how much would it cost currently?

As for Iceprobe, you can view my review of this equipment here:

Good for small tank only and people who have space constraint and want everything neat.

It only effective for very small tank as stated in the specifications on the box. It's definitely better than fan cooled but not that energy efficient.

Mate, I just bought the chiller last night. It doesn't work at all for me.

My room temperature 30c. I used a fan n able to chill to 28c. My tank only 1 feet 10cm.

Right after I installed the chiller n removed the fan, the temperature boost up to 29.5c. Omg!!! Worst than a fan. N today I check the temperature, it come down 28c. Same effect with fan only. Any tips or advise to make it cooler?

Which one did you buy, Dolphin or Iceprobe? Iceprobe should be able to cool down a 1 feet tank easily to 25

I bought dolphin mc 788 mini chiller. now I just run the fan together with the chiller. Temperature maintain at 28c. Mid night till the next day before 12pm, the temperature store at 27c. Sigh..... But these days weather in kl is extreamly hot. 35c outside n Klang hit 37c. Hopefully it still can bring down the temperature when it is raining day.
