Like to ask, after they are hatched, how long do they take to be adult?

are you trying to post count chase??? it takes up to 1 or 2weeks to reach the size of 0.5cm big. and a adult is about 2 to 2.5 cm roughly it takes about two months for a shrimplet to adult but it's subjective for various reasons too. Last edited by luigi545; 03-11-2007 at 02:16 AM. |

Most hobbyists tend to overfeed, I used to overfeed too. Can you imagine 1 algae wafer everyday for 15 shrimps?? hahaha... On top of that I also feed them with frozen tubifex which was a big mistake cause the end result is I had lotsa fat white worms in the tank (also dunno where they came from, maybe the tubefex babies or something). Had a darn hard time getting rid of the worms afterwards. Almost tore down the tank and start all over again. Now with close to 200 pieces its abt 1 to 1.5 wafer per day and on some days I'll delibrately skip. IMHO it's good for the water condition, good for the shrimps and less possibility of having unwelcomed pesticides from appearing. Resisting the urge to feed is super difficult especially when we really love our shrimps. But sometimes must really control. |

My shrimp tank now got lots of small dots, some small organisms. Do I need to change water or these are good live food for my shrimps?
