hmmm...i think the cucumber will float around if not secured. sometimes when my FFs almost finish the cucumber, the remaining small piece may come off the wire & float around, my FFs just follow it & suck on it, haha.

i think the wires are pretty safe, i always make sure the end of wire in the water is not sharp. i've seen some fellow hobbyists using a fork to hang the cucumber on the tank wall or simply just use the fork to weigh the cucumber down at the bottom, some tie in on DWs using fishing line.

the cucumber tends to float for quite some time..
so the FF can suck near the surface.

from my experiance.. i went to my lfs to get a FF..
while catching it, it flew out.. i quickly catch it and put it back into the tank.. get a new piece instead
2nd time.. got this real beautiful one.. still jump up..
i asked lfs owner why..
he said.. '' u see the name u know it will jump liao''
