Lightly BW. Freshwater for young adult should be ok. Less aggressive compare to other puffers.
Try build up his stomach by feeding more variety at young stage. A picky eater. |

You can consider keeping a "black" gsp, it grows a little faster than gsp and sometimes grow at irregular or "out of shape" body shapes. You can try luck at jurong east Blk 260 nearby LFS or Yishun chongpang Blk 111 nearby LFS. Pic for "black" gsp: |

Sorry bro i do not agree with you on this. You should have seen the sick 10 inch fahaka which i bought back last time. It was literally black, entire upper body black but the belly was still abit white. This fish was stressed as hell, camullanus worms, shedding of slime coat, jagged fins etc..
Frankly, i do not find the blackening of the belly a great indicator of stress n its more to do with the upper body colour. Even my mbu which passed away, did not show any darkening of the belly but hes upper body pattern was extremely blotchy as compared to the normal beautiful separated patterns. Based on my knowledge, blackening of the skin is due to nitrite/ammonia poisoning & basically stress. A black line forms across the eyes of my fahaka (avatar pic) when he is stressed. As for the congo puffer, their colour change accordingly to the colour of the surroundings. It doesnt mean different colour means its a congo variant. If the substrate is white, den e congo turns to that colour n if e substrate is red den it becomes red. I have seen my congo change colour before based on the substrate its in. Once you off the lights, hes body turns black den when u on it, it slowly brightens up. So there is no such thing as a 'black' gsp or 'black' fahaka, the price difference is mainly due to the LFS allocated price. Do refer to my previous posts for the pic of my sick fahaka.
