Wow....a 422 for a fahaka.....can aquascape the tank liao. Lots of space to play around with.

hhahahaha.... tink fahakas grow quite fast.... After x-mas, will need to shift mine out from the 2x1 tank liao...

me never measure, but can easily measure and gauage when it moves in and out from the 'pot'

Should be an inch per month with regular feeding.

Pumping will mean about 2" per month. No good.

No need after Christmas lah. Too soon. haha...

hahahaha.... x-mas good time... cos the tank for it shd be mature and fully cycled by then..

2" per month is veyr fast... hahaha... 3 months = 6" liao...

not sure how to deco the tank yet... if start a 5ft planted tank... quite a headache too.... will try to start a proper filter system for that tank soon.... den 6mth later move out the aro n pleco....

Why dun u try just normal substrate, perhaps sand, and then aquascape it with a nice driftwood as centre piece, then tall ferns behind and nanas in front? Will look good and low maintenance too.

wow! 522 is huge ..

as for filtration...since it will only be a solo fish tank.. ur OHF i believe would be enough..

setting a 5ft planted tank would be $$ n challenging..

but since it is used to hse fahaka.. i think u can go for those simple maintenance plants + lots of DW/deco..
