Hi Thor! Thank you for your interest! Kindly note that our Hydra 30 is suitable for your tank. Yes, you too can use only Hydra. =)

Hi Qianhu,
I will be keeping flowerhorn in a 2ft x 1ft x 1.5ft tank. Given the large amount of poo, please advise whether Hydra 20 or 30 is more preferable for this tank? Thanks. Regards. |

Good morning boss!
Re your tank is a temporary tank or you will be looking to upgrade in the future? If you are looking to upgrade in the future, perhaps you can get the Hydra 30 so that you can use the same filter. Hydra comes with adjustable flow-rate so you can temporary reduce your flow-rate in a 2ft and increase when needed. If not, a Hydra 20 is sufficient for a young flowerhorn in a 2ft x 1ft x 1.5ft tank. |

Hi Qianhu,
I have gone ahead and purchased the Hydra 30 with confidence after heeding your advice. The next question is what is the recommended media for the anaerobic chamber for bacteria cultivation? Thanks. Regards. |

Thank you boss! Re your question about the recommended media for the anaerobic chamber, I will suggest putting crushed coral to help buffer your pH at 7-8. This is assuming there are no other buffering medias in your tank at the moment and of course to test the pH of your tank & water source.

Hi Qianhu,
Since the anaerobic chamber is relatively small, so should I go for the smallest sized crushed corals in order to maximise the volume? Any preferable size? Thanks. Regards. |

Good morning boss!
I would recommend going for a mid-sized crushed coral as the finest ones will be difficult to maintain. |
