Went to C328 today and went shrimp hunting. I was thinking to myself what colour should i get???

Green??? Yellow??? Orange??? Snowball??? Cherry??? Sakura???
After about ten minutes of deep thought, the answer is below! Shrimps were added at 3pm and until now, still doing fine. Out of 5, 3 are berried. I believe all of them are females.

Never never use direct water to top up/change your water. Shrimps are ultra sensitive. Always treat your water with anti-chlorine/chloromine. I'm using Shi Zhen for my shrimp tank and have finally achieved zero CRS casualty. I don't even need a chiller to keep them.

the method you are using is correct, using live stock to speed bb growth, but thats not enough. I will strongly recommend against using anti chlorine solution or BB solutions, they dont really work from my last few setups.. besides, i use direct tap water to do WC. the safest to do this, is by 15% WC once or twice a week, so you need nor do a huge change once a month.

keep your guppy tank running for a month, before you bring in the shrimps. you'll see improvement. Btw, HOF is more recommended then internal.

I see that you are using gravel as substrate. Why dont you invest on shrimp soil? That would help buffer the water to the appropriate pH.

To keep shrimps successfully, you should invest on several things, such as tank, test kits, water conditioners, substrate, plants, fan, etc. I have a fair share of failure until I upgraded my tank to a 2ft, so that water parameters are more stable. To date, my tank has reached stability and maintenance is quite a breeze.

I wish u all the best with ur shrimp keeping. Use old sea mud powder and bt-9 for better water parameters. Also add shi zhen to ur tap water before adding it to the tank. That's what I have learnt. Gave me 0 casualties.

I actually do have soil but i didnt knw hw to make the cloudiness settle so i kept it aside. My tank is equipped with a fan as well, it keeps the temperature to 28degrees and there is also a ph meter at the side which indicates ph at 6.6...
