Really lucky to have a pellet trained IT. Can share what operations you've performed on the alligator gar?

I have a pellet trained 12' IT which loves hikari massivore too. I realised that larger ITs tend to be non-fussy in their choice of food. Dunno why the trend is such. Cuz my ex larger IT is also like that. The bugger would even snatch small sinking pellets meant for my smaller catfishes!

Gators take pallets relatively easy.
However, I find that pallets are actually slower then market fish. I based this assumption on the gars i own and that of a friend which now i also own. He feed his gator pallets and I feed market fish. Both feed some feeders now and then. My growth rate is about 1.5 times his. So to conclude, pallets for me act as a supplement, some vitamins which feeding market fish alone do not have. But thats all, market fish still faster and cheaper. I do not own tiger so I shall not comment. BTW, I am also curious what ops you have done to the gar? |
