I put my rainbar below water surface because it's rather noisy if it's above water level.

Do what berber said. Should be fine. It only mean your tank's surface don't have enough distubance.

okok. But if I were to put the rain bar above the water level, will the water gain more heat because it comes into contact with the air before entering the water. I am using a chiller.

juz a question.. so isit recommended to put the rainbar in the water or out of the water? and if its in the water, must it point up, down or straight?
Right now my rainbar is below the water surface and pointing straight so there is alot of water circultation going in the water...

whats your flowrate?

if your flowrate is high you can put in under water facing the tank wall.

if your flow rate is low you can you can put above water facing away from the tank wall, directly facing the water surface!

Same for me high or low i don't depend on the rainbar to do the job. Like Berber mention i go those neighbourhood shop get those bottle pvc bottle with many holes on the cap. Alot of old ppl use it to water plants. I use those add the dose in the bottle pour in tank water swirl it around and squeeze it into tank. I find it more effective it help to reach the bottom and corner. Rather than you just dump it on the surface.

Just scoop BT9 and pour it on the water surface, it will take time to sink. Or you want to stir it in a cup of water before pouring water into the tank.

Or you can preactivate it by bubbling BT9 in aged water in a bottle and use it in your tank after 24hrs..
