Hi all sifus here, is it a must to keep shrimps in chilled water?
Can I keep them in room temp? Yes the color will fade a little,
but other than that is there any other disadvantages of keeping
them in room temp? Thanks.

its all about the grades of your shrimps! the lower the grade the more tolerant it is to water condition/fluctuation and tempreture.. so if you wanna keep in room temp you can try low grade CRS or fire red or cherry shrimps.. all these can be kept at room tempreture.. but would not recomand you trying CRS.. best choice is cherry shrimps!

Lower grade more tolerant to water condition/fluctuation and tempreture?? Likely it was a higher grade and due to the water condition/fluctuation and tempreture, it becames a low grade. And maybe soon a D grade, D for dead.

Bro Berber, Thanks for the advise.
Bro silane, so actually a higher grade crs will down grade to a lower grade crs if condition is bad? What if with lots of tlc and given the right conditions, a lower grade crs will up-grade itself? Thanks

A higher grade CRS will soon loose it's color intensity from stress due to poor/bad water condition and may soon drop to D(ead) grade.

A low grade CRS (eg C grade) won't be 'upgraded' to A grade due to good water condition. Of course, if the CRS if of A grade, but lost it's color (mainly, white), it may be considered B grade. And when it is in good water condition, the color may become stronger, thus revert back to A grade.

The abv is purely an opinion. Not necessarily reflects the actual grading citerior.

A Grade = Awesome Grade
B Grade = Better Grade
C Grade = Common Grade
D Grade = Doom Grade

Sorry for the late replies, busy for the past few days. Thanks for the concern bros, I have upgraded my Shrimplets into a bigger tank for them to roam around. I'm wondering, can I have tank mates like neon tetras to mix with?

One more question, what plants or moss are more suitable or preferable for shrimps?
