Yellowish spot?? Not very sure about that. But If it brown, then it also another of algae. Just wipe it off! Or get some humble snail to munch it away!

Yup, you are absolutely right. That is the whole reason why we have to do tank maintenance.

i got that too.. but yellow means lack of Light or nuturent in the water...
