From what i know, males will tend to have milky white spots at the side of the gill cover. Not very obvious in some cases. It also indicates that the male is ready to mate.

Female will lay eggs & the water tend to be smelly after that. u got keep goldfish anot, this one u dun know meh

Above is a pic showing the white spots on a male GF. They are not white spot disease. These white spots are smaller in size, does not protrude out as much and in large quantities.

man..thanks guys...now at least I know that my tank all gays....hehe cause they keep smelling each other's backsides but all male hahaha
