Taking it out of water to bask is the best for PNTs.

Im intending to build another tank to replace my current tank.
Current tank = 36 15 15
New tank = 36 15 21?

Note: I've custom build my cabinet and i can't change the length and breadth of my tank. 36 X 15
I can only build a taller tank, unless i redo my cabinet in the living room.

If i build a ious tank, what should be the correct media in the compartment?

Thank you for all advise

That's a v small tank to house a PNT it won't be enough to hold it until adulthood. I would rather invest in a bigger tank like a 6footer with a wide breadth of like 3ft due to the PNT size like of an army tank to put in comparison to allow it to turn with ease.

Your filtration system I will recommend it to be
Wool----->Bio medias Eg. <Seachem matrix,biohome red & grey, eheim substrat pro> -----> coral chips

The volume and proportion of medias will be up to u and the capacity of your filters.
