Yea bro thats coral sand lol and yea it raises the pH siginificantly so i used a pH buffer to bring it down. The uncle at Y618 and some bros claim that puffers prefer higher...TPF recomends about ph 6-8. So far, my puffers seem to do quite well with a higher pH so i wldnt be too worried for now. I been using coral sand all along for e puffers because i cant find grade 0 fine river sand . Y618 only brings it now n den...

Sand not so popular ba because its hard to maintain

ooo ..just asking only..
ya.. they suitable for higher pH... (i think not as high as those Tanganyika )
Previously I maintain mine at ard 7.6 using baking soda n coral chips.
& kH @ 4.. so as to keep the pH stable..won't fluctuate much.

for sand.. just be careful with the compacting/shit trapping problem.

Also..have to take note of the risk involving maintaining high pH water.
(this 1 u own self go readup liao..)

do test the kH also.. cos that will affect the pH stability also.. Stability is the key to fish keeping success!
(pH-kH-GH relationship...good to know... google for more info)

haha.. not so soon ah. Hopefully by next year can restart.. Else really can just enjoy ur fish pic/vidz liao.. haha
