yup.. my puffer either swallow the whole shell+meat or try to suck out the meat from the shell...

the shell will get 'digested' n pass out as shit.. (not too sure whether it get digested or not...the scientific/technical details u got to google ard liao.. check those journals for more info.)

The shell will not be digested. They will pass the shell out along with the normal waste.

You gotta make sure your puffer is big enough before starting on crayfish. There are cases when the fish is unable to pass the shell out and then the fish is constipated and dies.

My Fahaka is always resting on the sandbed.

Sometimes it blows at the sand to check if there is some food hidden beneath the sand. Very cute.

But it stopped eating MP although I haven't been feeding it any other food. Will probably buy some torsat to tempt it to eat. Get some snails if they are available too.
mine too! it will blow at the sandbed. haha realli cute fellow

me just got a crazy idea for feeding the puffers.... ... abit cruel thou

get a 2ft tank, abt 15-20 crayfish.. those cheap cheap ones.... and break off their legs or pincers to feed, since after moult will grow new one... would be quite sustainable for a small puffer and if the lobbies are well-fed

Sounds scary. I don't think I want to do that.

And my Fahaka don't seem to be eating much. Not even tempted by feeder fish. Only took a small bite.

I bought those small female betta feeders cos I thought they swim slower.

And my Fahaka just killed a pleco too. Only took a bite out of the eye region. So only the eyes and some white meat exposed.
