It's not the overfeeding but the fouling of the water if the food is not all eaten up, e.g. I've used Spirulina which comes in a tablet form and I've stuck 2 full tablets onto the glass for the fish (plenty of fish in my community tank) to nibble before I go to work. When I came in the evening, the entire tank is cloudy, even though I'm using an Eheim external filter, as the 2 tablets were not completely eaten up and fouled the water. The same also applies if you put too much liquifry when you feed your fry. Some other food also foul the water if they are left in the tank.

Agree...
Cos I also just started this new hobby and when everytime I feed them, the left over food which are not eaten up will foul the water.... But then if put too little for them to eat then might scare not enough....

I also dunno what is the correct portion, so now still trying out

Don't overfeed but ensure all the food is finished during each feeding session. Then feed your guppies more often so they have enough food. Generally, food should be finished in 2-3 mins each time.

But then then food that sinks to the bottom, they don't want to eat and thats why my water foul after every 3 to 4 times of feeding...

Btw, I brought those slow sinking type...

So is it better to get those floating type???

My guppies eat from everywhere in the tank: top, middle and bottom
