hi all, i'm new to the aquarium world. i just got a 2ft tank from a friend to start out and i'm very interested in keeping dwarf snakeheads, i prefer those to the big ones. any dwarf snakeheads to recommend? and at the moment, i do have 3 giant snakeheads fries, 3 green spotted pufferfishes, 4 earth eaters and 2 oscars. all are babies, those will be removed and placed in proper care when i get my dwarf snakehead.

i just got my channa bleheri today at C328 for $9, wondering if the fish is blind or not. it's eyes are black, and i compared it to pictures which all of their eyes are white. is mine blind?

hey thanks man! just one more question, i introduced my bleheri with many many small fishes, like baby oscars, baby giant snakeheads, baby earth eaters and baby puffers and together with a dozen feeder goldfishes. the bleheri's reaction to it's new tank is strange. it sometimes swims frantically or hides behind the pump and stays there for hours. please advise?

it's normal for them to hide behind objects for long periods whenever they feel uncomfortable or are stressed. I had this experience before. The best thing you could do is provide a cave or something for it to hide in to reduce its stress levels. Usually bleheris display a wider range of behavior in a species-only planted tank where the tank is large enough to provide adequate swimming space and cover.
They are also solitary creatures so a rough guide would be about 4 bleheris in a 4ft tank (with the exclusion of bottom dwellers) max in order to let them feel comfortable. They should stop hiding after that and display brighter colours.
