Default just my 2ft tank.

hey all, just to share my tank that i have since the start of this year.

feb

march

late march

april

parameters are
temp : 24-25C
ph : 5 using sera test kit
>6 using API fresh water test kit
gH : 3-4
kH : 2
no2 : 0ppm sera test kit
no3 : 0ppm sera test kit
ammonia : 0ppm test kit

soil i am using is ADA amazonia 2 mixed with ADA new amazonia.

have been putting fire red shrimps in, but they all seems to die one by one. could it be because the ph is too low?
they start to die after the first 1week or so.
tend to find their shell very soft and seem to tear at the back of the head.

inside are 3 otos, 5 yamatos, 5 galaxy and FRs.

the otos and yamato are doing fine, running about doing their stuff, but the FRs tend to all hide under the driftwood.

anyone got any ideas?

You could try half a bag or a quarter first cause you don't want to raise the PH by too much.

Btw, what mosses are those tied on the meshes?

You can either shove coral chips into the substrate or into your filter. I add a few pieces of coral chips into the filters I have just to create a better balance of the pH in the tank.

pH is too low if it is 5. The other test kits showing more then 6?? I think you have to get abother test kits or pen to get the reading.

How was the initial condition of your fire red when purchased?

Bro are you using Co2. If yes adjusting your Co2 might adjust your PH. There is an indicator app to take note on the PH. Cheers

Sorry not to offend anyone. If is me I will choose to adjust ph through my co2 before I decide to put coral chips. Note coral chips affect GH aswell.
