I am quite satisfied with what PAP has done since 1965.
Its the last 5 to 10 years I dont like. So for me, if PAP can be changed to rectify the wrong policies esp lack of control of "Foreign Talents". Think they let in too many and questionable quality. If this can be changed think status quo ie. dominant PAP is fine for me. 2 cents |

For me, it is the last 15 to 20 years that I take issue with. I have not really seen real wages increase since 1990s. Just more competition from foreigners to make us more competitive (in the words of the govt) or depress our wages (in the words of the commoners).
In fact, if I take the graduate mothers scheme as the beginning of my discontent with their policies, then it'll be more than 20 years. Up till early, mid 80s from independence, I think they've done a real good job. |

Many people not only fear but also see what two parties system can do to a country. Blue/Green and Red/Yellow are typical example of a 2 parties system. No need to magnifiy, when something happened. There are hot news everyday. Every party will fight for their own POV and make policies favourable to them. If they strongly feels strongly against 1 particular policy, they will vote against it. Both MIW and alternatives will do the same. Agreed that the garment should listen more to the ground sentiment before implementing any policy especially those unpopular ones. One day, if the alternatives took over, I also wish that they could do the same... |

I dun see in what ways it benefit us now with members of the Familee and a bunch of YES Men ruling the country.
Dun forget that our country size and population is small compare to other countries. So when comparing with other countries, you have to take that in consideration. Try putting our MIW in other countries, see if they can perform, provided they can last a month or two. Last edited by Guppies Onli; 18-09-2011 at 10:42 AM. |
