ITs is one species of Tigers which is quite hard to have it stable... My little one was HOR HOR for 2 over years become it became stable.... I ever had a tank com of tigers...all HOR HOR in my tank... so got bored with them and sold to a friend of mine... guess what... only after a week it all became KIM KIM... go figure! And both of our set up uses black back ground.... |

I guess the tigers haven got use to the environment ba, give them some time to settle down and had to be really patient. My tigers took me 4 months to settle down and become kim kim but still left one more still beri the unstable leh
Btw I use black colour background for my tank. |

Tiger's stability is subjective to tank's background, setup, tankmates in comm and water condition....

thanks for the replies... i introduce 2 into my tank about a month ago. 1 of them when put in was very stable for 1 week. the other was unstable. now the stable 1 is still stable, but always hide in a dark corner and make it look " or or"...
the other one although being slightly smaller, is bullying the stable one. then this bullier always swim around, are compete food with my rtg, but is only 50% stable most of the time. i reckon both my ITs are still small as they r only 5inches, hope they outgrow the fear as the get bigger. i have 2 parrots that are 7-8inch and a 14in RTG together. |

I have my ITs in both balck and blue oyama paper background before...honestly, my ITs appear better gold/yellow colour in blue background....
but again, stability of ITs also depend on tankmates, water condition, as mentioned by bros here...sometimes, your IT stable, what condition also stable.....similarly if black black IT, put into what tank and what condition, they may still appear black black, guess many IT seow like me had experienced that b4 |

IMO, the stability of a tiger will depend greatly on a tiger's character itself. To assist a tiger to settle down quick, it mainly depends on your tankmates, water conditions. Normally, a tiger that eats well will settle down quicker. Try sticking to fix routine in your WC, feeding and lighting. This greatly helps "Shy" tigers to settle down quicker.
Background colors, imo, will impact the final colors of your tigers. Lighter backgrounds often cause tigers to have white/yellowish color and darker backgrounds often cause tigers to have golden/bronze color. Cheers, Alan |
