the National park did replied to my queries

"
There are not many willow trees in areas under NParks care. However, from
our record, a few of them can be found in Woodlands Town Garden ( off
Woodlands Centre Rd ) or along Ulu Pandan Park Connector along Sg Pandan
from PIE to AYE. Also, I believe the Chinese Garden in Juriong also has
some of these trees.

Hi Richardg, So did you see any improvements to your water clarity? i also am faced with slight greenish water and there seems to be a lot of very small suspended particles in my water which the filter cannot take away. anybody have any idea what this could be?

err.. i think it takes around 2 weeks or so to have any effect

greenish water can try blackout for 4 to 5 days.
suspended particles try search for "cloudy water" or bacteria bloom.

have been looking for willow branch but still no luck. but i have cured my greenwater problem. this time is much easier than i thought.

this is what i did:

1) changed 80% of tank water. and reduced light by half: from 3.3WPG to 1.5WPG

when i introduced new tap water, i dosed anti-cholarine only after i filled up the tank and started the filter. my purpose was to kill the green algaes using the untreated tap water. so i distrubuted the new tap water evenly into the tank, paying special attention to tank corners. this might cause temporary 10 minutes uncomfort to fishes or plants but i dosed anti-cholarine right after that. hope green algaes died immediately (they should). the water appeared clearer after WC. only a bit blur. no change on fertilizer dosing routine.

2) 1 week later, water was still same kind of little bit blur since last WC. no new development for greenwater. so another 80% water same as above. water appeared very clear after WC. no change on fertilizer dosing routine.

3) 2 weeks later, that means now. water is very very clear. no new development for greenwater. it basically goes away. plan to switch light back to 3WPG if no problem until next WC. so far dont see any green water problem.

simple isnt it?
