Thumbs up Giving away Opae Ula

Hi all,

Why I am giving away

I bought a 7 inch "self-sustaining" glass jar filled with 5-6 Opae Ula from CRS Haven some time back.

I realised this is a pretty cruel way keep these little fellas so I want to give these guys away to a better owner.

How to get the shrimps?

My condition is simple, the new owner must demonstrate experience in keeping the opae ula and must keep them in a bigger tank (with other suitable organisms or not, it's up to the new owner).
EG. pictures of current set-up keeping aquatic organisms

The new owner must document what he does with his new pets for a week in this forum for accountability.

Where

The jar is currently in Jln Kayu near Sengkang.

Please reply in this thread to indicate interest. Thanks.

Im interested. But then again, unless the new owner is keeping sulawasi or opae ula, the new owner will not be able to transfer it to the new tank/bigger tank anytime soon.

Hi bro, I assume the opae ula are already in brackish water or were the shrimp sold in freshwater? I'm interested but do not have a brackish setup at the moment, just a backup 20cm freshwater tank I use to nurture beneficial bacteria

It require brackish water if you would like. It is actually minerals from volcanic area. Opae ula origin from volcanic area and lives up to 30 years in the wild.

To answer your question, it is sold as "brackish" water. Freshwater fished will not live past 1 month in saltwater, let alone shrimp....

The freshwater backup tank you have will be useful only if you know how much salinity the current tank housing the shrimp is.

i hope no one collect from you yet. please do not transfer those mini lobster or shrimp into another tank. they will die if you do that. the water inside that jar is not pure water from our normal tap. the water is mix with other liquid so that it is work in such a way that no need to take care of them.

Please do not transfer into other tank, if really want to transfer please bring it back to crs shop to do it.

Hi,

I'm interested to take them in, as i'm in the mist of upgrading my tank of 8 opae ula to another bigger tank. Currently, cycling my new tank for a month now.

Let me know if they are still available for adoption.

Thanks for reading.
