Feeding kunning, and other similiar bait fishes.
Hi bros, i am seeking out cheaper alternatives to feed my fishes. With the festive mood and cny coming, i foresee that it is going to be more expensive to feed my monster comm.
Some bros have advise me to try out feeding kunning, tamban or other similiar baitfishes. And here i have some questions which i hope bros can help me out with. I have fishes of different sizes in the tank and i am very sure if i feed the baitfish whole, many of them will not be able to swallow. My question is how do you folks feed the baitfish? Do you just cut the baitfish with bones intact and just feed? Or do you fillet and only feed the fish meat? Not too sure on this. If we just cut to size and feed with the bones intact, will it cause any problems? Hope bros can help me out with this. |

Just chop to bite-size. Less messy to chop when the fish is frozen. Up to you to fillet for me I find it troublesome. If its tamban u feeding need to descale first or else you will see 'snowflakes' in your tank.

I have tried kunning before.. Just cut to bite size of fish and throw in..
But I feel it's a little messy, comapared to MP.. The bones, fins and some other fishes, scales.. And some of them refuse it.. After one or two packets from NTUC, I gave up.. Gone back to feeding MP.. |

Maybe i will try out kunning first.
Thought of pellets. 70% of my fishes are already taking pellets. Less the arowanas and channa. I would like them to be bulky in size so looking at a fresh meat diet for them. |

Fish meat in the long run is more economical than mp.

I would think so too.
I just bought some kunning from sheng shiong. Most of my pbs still not willing to eat the kunning. Channa didn't even bother to taste. Too good life already. Looks like have to do a bit of starving. |
