You try to let to them for a very cheap price or you can try maybe ask petmarts see whether they want to take or not. I understand not many will do trade in. Unless you frequent the lfs alot and know them very well

Sorry, tried looking for the guidelines on min post but could not locate it. But I suspect you do not meet them. Try to participate genuinely more in the discussions and may you get the b/s privilege soon.

Participating genuinely no use want. You must contribute to AF, not to fishkeeping generally.

1) Have you attended any AF event so far? Did you put down your name in the attendance list of the thread for the just concluded AF Carnival 2011 at OTF?

2) Did you put your name in the sales list for any AF souvenir items like AF Book, windbreaker, jersey, t-shirts and lanyard?

3) Did you put your name in the participation list for the Aro, Ray, TVR, Guppy, Betta and Flowerhorn competitions organized by AF?

4) Did u join any of the AF affiliated clubs like AFC and FHCS and participate in their activites?

5) And just in case you think that support and contributions must be in monetary form, did you volunteer to be a helper for the AF Carnival 2011 or any AF activities?

Hope the above gives you a clearer picture of what is meant by support and contribution.

Actually, if you are a good contributor to the hobby, the respective sub forum mods can recommend you for the b/s privilage.

My perception is. So it's not about supporting events and buying books alone, or participating in compeitions, etc.

Maybe we shd understand, the forum started to allow hobbyist to gather to a common platform to communicate and share. Functions in the forum grew, so did membership. Than it becomes what seems like, functions are default for all members. But than again, if we look back, the forum started for the benefit of like minded hobbyist, not for trade.

From that angle, we would understand why it is a privilage, since the forum isn't a public facility, but provided to the public by the founder/owner.

I disagree with you on your perception. But this is not the place to argue about it.

But I agree that the forum owner has to right to decide who to give this privilege to.

I got my buy/sell rights via silane's (mod of this sub-forum) recommendation before I attended the AF carnival (my first AF event) so I can assure you that contribution with just posting your knowledge and experience will do. As long as the mods take note of your posting and deem them valid and not posts that are non-constructive.
