i must agree cos wolf can survive in mud but local snakehead can get lost in HDB flat!!! that's what i experienced some time back when i lost a 2ft plus snakehead at home that was meant for consumption

One thing about rescued dried up escaped snakehead or lung fish or whatever that breath air is you must put it in shallow water so it can breath.
Mine snake head was rescued, but because it was dried up, it could not swim. I put it into a 18 inches deep tank, and it drowned because it could not swim up for air.

hmmm... mine was floating for many many days in the tank after it was rescued.... and it doesn't eat or doesn't move unless something disturbs it... after that, it died... due to starvation...

maybe it damaged the swim bladder when it fell to the ground or something...

Anyway, here's the colour code-

1.Red wolf- Ery sp- as in the orange belly wolf
2.Black wolf- malacabricus
3Green wolf- hoplias Uni... something something- the one with the black line across the body- the one that bite you remember?
4.Red shuyo- ery ery.

Those are the trade names.

Africa's got tiger fish
South america's got wolf fish.
Singapore's got "lei he" aka snakehead

"Omm Zhai" .... ... the one in the pic... US site call it common wolf (hoplias Mal) they do have black line along the body when young...

the one that bite me.... (all thanks to CF)..... some call it black bandwolf ... US site call it golden wolf... real confusing....?????

this fellow is abt 8 inches (blackband wolf)
