Wah like that ah, I would suggest you start to do some WC from now, but do lesser water change say 10%. If I am not wrong if you don't change water for too long, your GH in the tank should be very high which might cause problem for your shrimp especially you have a suprise in it now.
started the WC 10% yday nite, this morning found 2 dead! think the shrimps live in too complacent environment liao or maybe die of old age. Now BKK is no where found, dunno where it hides?

put in some coral chips too, PH now rise to 5.9, not too shocking for shrimps right?

Feel sorry for your loss.. Probably too much PH fluctuation caused the death of your shrimp... you have gotta be more cautious with that.. 0.1 PH means alot difference to your shrimps.

Hi bro,

Sorry to hear that there are some losses after WC. Personally I feel that you should not put coral chip together with WC, because typically our tap water has a PH of 7.0, having 10% water change u are actually altering the PH, since your Ph is 5.2 at this moment, it should raise by 0.1 to 0.2 when you have WC, and when you at in the coral chips it raises the PH to 5.9 which is of too sudden change in their environment and might be the cause of their death. I would suggest u reduce the percentage of WC and twice a week and use dripping method instead. test your PH level before and after WC and continue for a month, if PH stabalize and still at the low side, then you can add in the some small amount of coral chip to further in helping to bring the pH level to the an acceptable level for your CRS.

Above is just my 2 cents thought for your reference.

appreciate ur 2 cents thought though. Removing my forest moss now should not alter the tank PH level right?
