Yup..as some other bros also recommended..I should be cycling for 2 wks at the very least! Temptation is really there when you look at the tank every day..haha..oh btw how frequent and how much do you guys do wc during cycling?
Meshes will not stop the 'heybi' from flattening your slope and they might just cover your mesh with the soil instead.. Haha.. Also tested & proven.. Maybe yours might be ok, but mine just kept flicking soil pellets to cover my mesh.. Mesh of moss I think you can try with people online who tie them nicely or you can just tie yourself.. Normally plants with roots might hold the slope better but that will make shrimp tank more 'high tech' in a way..

During cycling, I think was about 50% wc twice a week but I think bro newlife has better ways because when he told me how he cycle his 4ft heybi tank.. 'sia si wo'!!! Hahaha... But during wc remember to add in BT9..

If u want to cycle fast fast u can try must master Silane method he posted it somewhere i forgottent to keep the link.

It is a method of 7 days full 100% w/c method. I try alt day 100% after 1 week 0 ammonia. 0.5 nitrite i did 50% after that 3rd of 2nd week 0.25. I whack commando in. With Baxter nitiritfying liquid. n Bt-9 go to test tonite again to see nitrite lvl drop bo.

Haha..the heybis are sure very "naughty"! haha..Yeah..I will keep a lookout for any bros selling those meshes with moss..where to get blank mesh ar?

I guess I am still not ready for the "high tech" setup for the rooted plants and etc as it will involve CO2 n etc right? haha..still learning for now..

Icic..haha..okie..hmm I read somewhere that says do not do WC as it will reduce the ammonia that BB will feed on..maybe its more for fish tanks and not shrimps?

I learnt from seniors here that the sponge that you're using (that I used) is not 'fine' enough to prevent shimplets from getting sucked into the filter. Would suggest you change the sponge. Cheers.

Buy those ith very fine holes ( more compact), it about $2 if I am not wrong, but this kind of compact sponge will have to keep maintaining as it will collapse once it is choked. The center of the sponge will have a lady waist look alike once choked, and it a signal to take it out and wash.....
