Thanks for the gar, it is growing fast. About 15" now. I have only one short body gar in my 5' comm tank.

Eh bro, don't suan me ley, all those hikari pellets have so many greatness labelled on their packaging, all I'm trying to say, pellets can feed as add on to market fish but not the main staples because its very expensive. Not saying market fish no have vits.

I'm new to gar, collected a few over last few months for the purpose of killing my curiosity. On hand, not all are able to be pellet trained.

It's ok. But I do say specifically, that gators are relatively easy to palletize. Only gators. But not all the species. On the whole the Atractosteus group of the species are easier because of their aggressive nature. With gators at the top of the list.

Also the type of pallets does matter as well. I use the hikari carni sticks to start the training. To support the fact that gators take pallets quite easily, I tried with normal pallets and they still whack. The rest of the species not so ready to take pallets.
