yeah thats what makes the nymph of the species so famous. Apparently, dragonflies last for like 2 weeks, but their baby lasts for 3 years or more, or smth like that. Its even more extreme with the mayfly. Those have young that last years as well, but are only adults for 1 day apparently. Then die.

I had the same bug too...
Hey that's what happened to me too! And all the while I wondered why my shrimp kept dying. But I haven't introduced new plants for the past 2 months, so maybe a dragonfly came in from the window? Is there anything that will eat dragonfly eggs or larvae?

Guess there's nothing we can do but to keep checking for any existing nymph in the tank.... So for now, no shrimp buying for me... Saw some nice CRS at C328 yesterday but cannot get... Damn sad.

Good catch and very nice shots!
Pity that the fella got away with killing so many shrimps before being apprehended. Thats why, for me, the purple rain falls on all new plants before they get into my tanks. In this picture, got a few worm-like things came jumping out after the rain...could be very young nymphs. Also got snails, some slug/planaria looking thing and even a long legged mosquito! So far, this had kept almost all pests out of the tank...except seed shrimps |
