he talking about ferns and nanas, not moss. doubt moss got sap.

any he cant advised on moss as he never try it before.

all plants have sap.. sap is the liquid tt gives the plant nutrients.. anyway try to trim bit by bit so that the sap wont be excessive and cause any changes to the water parameters
