btw do you have pic of your wolf?
sorry jim, no pic at the mean time (no digi cam). The fish is brown base with darker browns stripes (one obvious thick horizontal stripes and some broken lines vertical stripes). Inner rim of eye have turn orange red while outer rim of eye turning green. Realised tat the gill plates have turn greennish. Eyes are so much smaller as compared to the Hoplias Macro.

What i am amazed is that i purposely catch a "white wolf" from the tank (the fish is totally platinum white in colour when in the tank) and yet turn brown when being put inside the bag till present.

Maybe same species but yet from different waters tat y cause the variance or due to the set up at CF (white sand, few driftwoof n plants n of couse the lighting) tat cause the baby wolfs to camo themselves accordingly to the environment...

Genuinely never hope that my wolfs are anything more than a Mala as the price tat CF offer is very reasonable n affordable. However, if turn out to be something more then Mala when the fish bigger then of course it is a bonus.

The thing tat disappoint and puzzled me is that how come the change of colour from platinum white to brown become so suddenly?

I believe it changes because of the background...cos CF kept them in a tank with white sand...so they probably altered their colour to help camouflage themselves...

(if the black is half the price of the giant... then he may still be ok)

beside H.marcopthalmus, I still hope to get hold of these 2 species H.Lacerdae and H.Aimara
