haha.. or mayb i shlb remove my nerite and add in assassin snails instead? as they do burrow and from wad i know, they do help with algaes as well rite??
or shlb i cont to look for another subsitute for mts.. if yes, whats my best bet brothers..? |

well i dunoo whether u guys heard of the walstad method b4.. according to the person, its always better to have smthing to aerate the substrate.. aniway my substrate is jus 3cm deep of normal potting soil

Assassins can probably dig it up enough for water to reach the bottom. Yamato shrimps will also dig and overturn the top soil very often so you should be covered with these 2 in your tank. Just make such you take care of the water circulation which is more important. No amount of digging will help if the water is not moving much or very poor in oxygen (lower temperature will help more O2 dissolve). I suggest you stay away from MTS unless its a very small tank that you don't mind restarting. These snails have a habit of overrunning a tank unless you control the feeding very very strictly |
